Individual Therapy for Family Relationships

SEATTLE THERAPY SERVICE

Individual Therapy for Relationship Issues with Family Members.

Happiness begins here.

Families can bring structure, security, and happiness to our lives. However, they can also present a multitude of challenges.

Whether it is with your partner and children, or your family of origin (the family you grew up with), it can be difficult to navigate these challenges on your own.

Maybe you don’t have the time or energy to do the things you want to do, or maybe you feel overwhelmingly sad watching your parents grow old.

You may feel like you are losing patience or you might find yourself in a constant state of worry.

Individual Counseling for Family Relationships

Do you often feel angry, guilty, or stressed out?

Do any of the following resonate with you?

  • You want to set boundaries with parents or other members of your family of origin who are toxic but don’t know how.

  • You feel guilty about getting a divorce.

  • You have a family member who is a hoarder.

  • You want to reconnect to a family member you haven’t spoken to in years.

  • You’re unable to understand the needs of your teenager.

You deserve to feel seen and heard

If any of these are true for you, even though you may feel alone, know that many people in your circumstances need support.

Coming to therapy may feel uncomfortable or scary, particularly when today’s society doesn’t make it easy to ask for help.

However, it’s important to get the care that you need, especially when you have the responsibility of taking care of others.

How Therapy Works

Individual Therapy for Relationship Issues consists of 50-minute, one-on-one sessions that help you work through your concerns.

In addition to listening, I will ask questions and provide guidance based on my experience, I play an active role. Here’s how it will work step-by-step:

The Process of Therapy

01.
Free Consultation

Overall, you can think of the consultation as a free-flowing conversation through which we start getting to know each other.

I’ll invite you to share more about yourself and we can also talk about what’s worked or not worked for you in the past.

02.
Initial Session

I provide a safe, accepting space so that you will feel comfortable sharing your struggles with me.

Through hearing your story, I will start to get a picture of what your challenges are.

03.
Goal Setting

We will start with helping you with immediate concerns like managing difficult emotions and challenging life situations.

We will work to discover what your goals are in therapy and in life.

04.
Ongoing Sessions

Keeping your unique goals in mind, we’ll figure out what’s needed to help you reach them.

Over the course of our sessions, you will start making progress towards the life and relationships you desire.
